In keeping with its commitment towards the young vulnerable youth of India, the Don Bosco Network –Bosconet held a ‘ National Mega Job Mela’ through ‘Disha’ – the Don Bosco Network center for career guidance and job placement for unemployed youth in India. The job mela hosted 32 companies and saw over 286 job seekers. Interviews were conducted in person as well as online. More than 157 youth were recruited. IT companies, corporates, HDFC bank & pharmaceutical companies were invited to be part of the mela.

Disha was born in 2005 with the aim of aligning itself with the vision of helping the young and vulnerable of our country towards brighter futures. It places youth in jobs and provides career guidance for college students and other scholars. It has successfully placed over 1500 young people in jobs over the last 15 years. DB India believes in giving new life to the vulnerable young of our country, alongside providing skill training and education towards a better life. DBN also creates opportunities for these young ones to find and create fulfilling lives.

The mela opened with the registration of participants and a welcome note by the chief guests in attendance – Fr. Sarath Parry – Director of Disha – Don Bosco Job placement center, Hyderabad and Fr. Noel Madhichetty, Director, Bosconet. The Disha coordinators headed by Mr. Vinod oversaw the process providing assistance to those that needed it. A special mention was made to the INH province, the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India, Bosco Seva Kendra and the St. Theresa’s Parish.

The mela was a success and the Don Bosco network continues to stay committed to seeing more vulnerable youth engaged in the community in fulfilling and meaningful ways.
