HSBC – Give India and Don Bosco Network-Bosconet: Partners in Solidarity

Don Bosco Network-Bosconet has been reaching out to those affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns in the north east, with the valuable support of HSBC and Give India. Santosh Thakur in Guwahati, Assam, is one such person.

Santosh lives with his wife and 2 children in Guwahati, in a rented space that costs Rs. 3500 per month. He earned a living from working in a small barber shop, earning Rs. 250 per day. He was doing well in his job and managing his life.

With the COVID lockdowns, the barber shop had to be closed and his income stopped. He had to use most of his savings for rent and food. The grocery kit from Bosconet and HSBC – Give India, containing rice, pulses, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuit packets, bathing and washing soaps, was a great relief. It relieved some of his stress about providing for his family.
