Kolkata, one of the most densely-populated cities in India, has been hit hard by the second Covid-19 wave. With over a million COVID cases, the effects have been devastating.
The government is facing crisis of testing kits and a lot of people have been turned away due to the shortage.
To help the government and provide support, Don Bosco School, Park Circus, Kolkata, in association with Thyrocare has become a centre for COVID-19 tests. To extend their help toward the people, the school is planning to collect a maximum of 100 samples per day.
The Don Bosco Network in India comprises of 11 Planning and Development Organisations (PDOs), each dedicated to the development of the Salesian provinces they serve. The Don Bosco network is spread across 29 states and 354 NGOs, reaching more than 10 lakh people.
