Don Bosco Network and Macquarie:
Making a difference
Macquarie Group Foundation and Don Bosco Network-Bosconet are making a real difference in the lives of 300 families in Delhi. On 11-12 June, they distributed grocery packages to 300 families living in Harijan Basti and under the Palam flyover.
These are single-income families of 7-8 members each and they usually work as rag pickers, domestic workers, ear cleaners and at other petty jobs. The COVID-19 lockdowns and the scare of infections have taken a heavy toll on their livelihoods.
The Don Bosco Network in India comprises of 11 Planning and Development Organisations (PDOs), each dedicated to the development of the Salesian provinces they serve. The Don Bosco network is spread across 29 states and 354 NGOs, reaching more than 10 lakh people.
