Crafting Opportunities for the stigmatized

HIV and AIDS have been long stigmatised by society, directly affecting the social status and mental health of the people who suffer from it. To improve their status and, expand the green cover at Pope John Garden, a project got inaugurated. Under this project, the land at Pope John’s Garden was cleared, followed by planting 260 mango trees and 260 lemon trees.

10eco clubs have been formed in 10 Salesian Institutes with 1140 children to educate the children and youths about their immediate environment and impart knowledge about the eco-systems. Rainwater tanks have been installed in 6 schools to harvest rainwater.

Drip Irrigation was utilized at Pope John’s Garden as a method for water conservation in the project site. Thanks to UPS for funding the project.
