Covid-19 Relief Operations in the Slums of Pune
The Don Bosco Development Society reached out to 450 poor and needy in the slums of Pune.Through the distribution of 90 relief kits containing ration for a month, toiletries and hygiene kits. This covid-19 relief work is financially supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.
Most of the distribution was done at Don Bosco Youth Centre in Koregaon Park; for better crowd management and controlled social distancing. These relief kits were primarily given to widows, senior citizens without family and migrant labours.
The Don Bosco Network in India comprises of 11 Planning and Development Organisations (PDOs), each dedicated to the development of the Salesian provinces they serve. The Don Bosco network is spread across 29 states and 354 NGOs, reaching more than 10 lakh people.
