The Strategic Action for Flood Emergencies (SAFE) project marked a significant step in strengthening flood preparedness with rescue equipment handover events held in Kolhapur, Maharashtra (9 March 2026), and Morigaon, Assam (10 March 2026).
In Mayang Development Block, Morigaon, around 50 community members, local leaders, and officials participated in the event led by Fr. Ignatius Gari (Executive Director, Bosco Reach Out), Guwahati, and Mr. Louis Manohar (National Coordinator, Bosconet), Delhi. Stakeholders appreciated the initiative as a timely intervention for flood-prone communities along the Brahmaputra River.
In Akiwat village, Shirol taluka, Kolhapur, the program was attended by local leaders and community members, along with Fr. Santhanam (Director, Bosconet) and Fr. Roystan (Executive Director, Konkan Development Society). The region, located near the Krishna River, faces recurring floods, highlighting the importance of such preparedness efforts.
