August 20, 2025 –Raising funds for social causes in India is getting smarter and more transparent. The Social Stock Exchange (SSE) is giving NPOs a new way to connect with donors and build financial sustainability through the capital markets. India’s non-profit sector is set for a major boost as the Social Stock Exchange (SSE) opens new doors for transparent fundraising.

At an online training organized by Bosconet, experts explained how SSE helps NPOs connect directly with donors and achieve financial sustainability. The session brought together 65 executives from 35 Don Bosco organizations nationwide.

National Coordinator of Bosconet, Mr. Louis Manohar called SSE “a game-changer for social initiatives.” The Director of Bosconet, Fr. Santhanam Ubagaram, noted its potential to expand outreach to rural and marginalized communities across 28 states.

Speakers Kaoshal Kishor Kumar (SSE India) and Dr. Anita Rego (PEARLSS 4 Development) revealed that over 150 NPOs have already registered, raising more than ₹43 crore through 14 listed projects. Participants also learned about Zero Coupon Zero Principal bonds, compliance norms, and steps to become investment-ready.

Experts emphasized that SSE is more than just a fundraising platform; it builds trust, transparency, and long-term impact for India’s social sector. If this momentum continues, donating to a cause could soon be as simple and credible as investing in the stock market, opening new possibilities for both NPOs and everyday changemakers.

The workshop was coordinated under the leadership of Fr. Santhanam (Director), in collaboration with Mr. Louis Manohar (National Coordinator) and the Bosconet team.
