Following the impact of Cyclone Michaung in 2023 and the subsequent flooding in Chennai, large sections of affected communities required immediate access to food and essentials. The initiative addressed these urgent needs through timely relief interventions across Tamil Nadu. Implemented by Bosconet in collaboration with on-ground partners SURABI, Chennai, and CAUVERI, Trichy, with support from corporate donors Donatekart (Amazon) and Nestlé India, the relief work focused on the distribution of essential supplies to cyclone-affected families.
Key Interventions & Impact
● Reached 8,000 families across affected districts with essential ration supplies
● Provided 700 blankets to individuals for protection against the cold
● Covered approximately 43,400 individuals through relief support
Immediate Relief and Basic Support
Overall, the distributions ensured access to essential supplies during the cyclone disaster. Families were able to meet their immediate food needs, while additional support, such as blankets, contributed to basic comfort and protection in the aftermath of the floods.
