Capacity Building Training on Organisational Professionalism for Don Bosco NGOs in India

Bosconet, Delhi, conducted a two-day Capacity Building Training on Organizational Professionalism on 21–22 January 2026 at Bosco Reach Out (BRO), Guwahati, Assam. The workshop brought together 25 Don Bosco executives and senior staff from 11 Don Bosco Planning and Development Offices (PDOs) across India, with the objective of strengthening professional culture, credibility, accountability, and institutional excellence within the Don Bosco social sector network. The programme aimed to enhance collaboration, professional skills, and organizational effectiveness.

The training was inaugurated by Fr. Sebastian Ishorary (Executive Director, BRO) and Fr. Ignatius Garri (Assistant Director, BRO). The theme was introduced by Fr. Santhanam (Director, Bosconet), and a message from Fr. Gabriel Stawowy (Economer General, Rome) was shared. Resource persons were introduced by Mr. Louis Manohar (National Coordinator, Bosconet).

Sessions were facilitated by Mr. Leo Fernandez (CEO & Co-founder, TalentEase), sharing over 20 years of corporate leadership experience, and Mr. Michael Raj (Associate Director – Global Sustainability, HSBC India), who contributed expertise in CSR, philanthropy, and employee engagement. They provided practical strategies to strengthen personal and organizational professionalism in NGOs.

The five pillars of professionalism—Competence, Communication, Commitment & Accountability, Credibility, and a Mission anchored in core principles - integrity, selfless service, and resolute commitment- were emphasized as essential for trust, transparency, and mission-driven work. Organizational professionalism, covering culture, productivity, accountability, resource management, HR coordination, partnerships, reputation, and a safe work environment, was also discussed.

The training concluded on 22 January 2026, with participants appreciating the knowledge shared. The programme aims to strengthen leadership, enhance professional practices, and support more effective social development initiatives across India.
